May 10, 2018 Sharex Custom Uploading. Posts: 20 Threads: 2 Joined: May 2018 #1. Dear Pasters, I decided to make a tutorial on how to make a custom screenshot with custom domain like this. Once you did that open up Sharex and navigate to destination settings at the buttom you will see 'Custom Uploader'.
I've been using ShareX for quickly taking and uploading screenshots and it's really handy. The only frustrating thing is that my default image uploader, imgur, has 2MB limit on uploaded files, which makes it unusable for most gifs.
Using gfycat would solve this problem. I noticed that there was a post regarding this here about 6 months ago, but that was mostly centered around adding gfycat as a default option for ShareX, which hasn't happened at least yet.
Now, ShareX also has a possibility for creating a custom uploader, but this needs some parameters I was unable to find by looking at the gfycat website HTML and JS. For reference, the menu for adding custom uploaders looks like this.
I suppose that there are two things needed to make it work: First, the URL for POSTing the image (and the file form name). By looking at the gfycat site HTML, I thought that these should be just http://gfycat.com/ and 'file' but I'm probably missing something since the response to this POST request is the HTML for the gfycat front page. This is the second thing that would be needed, a way to find the redirection url from the response after gfycat has made the conversion in order to access the new gfy.
Any insight to this matter would be greatly appreciated. :)
